Therapy for Children
“Should I take my child to therapy?”
It’s a question often asked in moments of frustration, overwhelm, and uncertainty—and it’s a courageous one. Children come to therapy for many reasons: anxiety, depression, learning challenges, behavioral concerns, or emotional struggles. Some may have diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, or giftedness, including twice-exceptionality, all of which can bring unique strengths and needs—for both the child and their caregivers.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Finding a therapist who truly connects with both you and your child is essential. Because children naturally express themselves through play, play therapy offers a developmentally appropriate and effective way to build connection, process experiences, and foster growth.

Play Therapy
“Play Therapy is based upon the fact that play is the child’s natural medium of self expression ... It is an opportunity which is given to the child to ‘play out’ his feelings and problems just as in certain types of adult therapy an individual ‘talks out’ his difficulties.” Virginia Axline
